back in action - the life of the supposedly rich

hey guys, sorry i havent updated this in a while. going through that lazy holiday period at the moment and havent been feeling too well.

anywhos, here is an update -

living in bangkok in a serviced apartment, i have now noticed is almost like living the life of a princess. not only are doors opened for you, but the apartment has security guards on 24/7, if staff are in the elevator they will leave in order for you to be in it by yourself, the maids sometimes look down while talking to you and the driver also opens the door for you.

having a driver and having people open doors for me everytime, except for gentlemen who open the car door (haha), is something that im still not completely used to.

if getting used to all of these things like having a driver that waits on you, means that i have to also stop feeling bad and gulity, thennnnnnnnn i dont think i will be feeling that anytime soon.
because in the end, the driver, the maid etc are people too and in my eyes they should be treated the same but to some (paris hilton wannabes), they are just treated like nobodies.

anywhos, hopefully ill update you guys more often than before :) but viet is coming down to my side of the world next week soooooooo maybee after he leaves, ill post alot more!

ronald mcdonald is our friend.

this one is for you jon!

maccas over here, like every other asian country is so different. unlike australia, there is fried chicken on the menu haha!

my first ever maccas experience in thailand was a nuggets meal :) my mum's was two pieces of fried chicken.

there is also no sizes here, you can either buy the burger, nuggets etc by itself OR as a set which consists of large fries and a large drink.

to make to even better, a large set meal only cost us like 3-4 bucks! sooooooo cheap, it's amazing haha!

jonjon, you would go nuts eating maccas here! haha! soooo stay away! =P

piri piri anyone?

i remember when we were having nandos, everyone kept asking me if there was a nandos in thailand. well ladies and gents, there is! but it's not calling nandos, it's called 'Piri Piri' HAHA!

its pretty much exactly the same. the only real difference is that they also offer seafood and pasta on the menu.

they have the lemon & herb option and their peri peri sauce meter is like - hot, very hot and suicide! haha

soooo in those days of feeling really home sick, at least i have now found my comfort food :) haha

my leg + shaving = hospital

it all started this morning, when silly girly me wanted to look pretty in a dress.

dont know why but today clumsy became my middle name. usually when you cut your leg from shaving, it bleeds a little and then eventually it stops. my leg just did not stop bleeding it looked like my leg was a prop from a horror movie. it was soooo disgusting!

once we arrived at the hosptail which looked more like a hotel, everyone spoke english! here was what happened - asked for assistance from front desk, who then directed me to registation, where i had to fill out a form, was then given a membership card, was asked to sit and wait, then was directed to emergency, the doctor checked out my leg and took my blood pressure?, and then after fixing it all up was asked to wait in the lobby for my medicine.

the one thing that made me laugh like no tomorrow was the hospital's slogan - "Happy things happen at BNH Hosptial" hahahahaha

oh and they gave you your medicine in a gift like bag! haha it was like i went shopping at the hospital haha!

anywhos guys, the moral of the blog today is... don't cut yourself shaving! haha

ready, set, GO!

crazy is a word i would use to best describe the traffic here.

me just recovering from a car accident makes it unbearable for me to watch cars drive just inchs away from the side of each car. it's so crazy! half the time that im in the car, my eyes are closed haha.

back in melb, when i was driving i hated bikeys. over here, it's so much more worse! i am so glad that i am not the one behind the wheel! my road rage would reach it's high levels haha.

but the thing i love about the traffic lights here is that they have timers on them. so when it is red, orange or green, youll be able to see how long you have left until the light changes, how cool is that!

but all in all, im safe to say that i have a safe and careful driver :)

foooooooooooooood

i was going to have the title of this post as 'cheap cheap cheap' but i thought you might get sick of that word by the time you finish reading this haha.

food here is so cheap, its not funny! its like so amazing that food could cost so little. lunch today with mum and dad was at this high class food court where, when you entered you were given a barcode card and then the food court was divided into sections according to the type of food they were cooking- there was chinese, indian, japanese, vietnamese! and italian. and then in the back of the food court was the eating area.

ok ok so get this, what you needed to do was once you've decided what you want to order you order it, give them your barcode card, collect your food ticket, find a table, give the food ticket to the people in the seating eating area and then wait for the guys to deliver your food. it is absolutely crazy! i'm so used to buying my food and bringing it to my own table!

probably the total cost of all of our meals plus our drinks (chicken fried noodles, satay mixed platter, lemon iced tea, two diet cokes, dumplings, friend rice and salad) would have been like, around 15 bucks? how crazy is that? and to think that i thought i was going to struggle finding food i could eat. pfffffft! haha

this food court thingymabob is definitely a place i am taking you guys to if you ever travel here :) my treat! haha
